If your TCL Roku TV is constantly showing promotional screens, demo videos, or resets picture settings on its own, it may be in Store Mode (also called Retail Mode). This mode is designed for use in retail displays and isn’t ideal for home use.
To enjoy the full experience of your TCL Roku TV, you’ll want to switch to Home Mode. Here’s how.
What’s the Difference?
Store Mode (Retail Mode) | Home Mode |
---|---|
Loops ads and demo screens | No ads or retail loops |
Picture settings revert or stay overly bright | Custom settings are saved |
Some features may be limited | Full TV functionality |
How to Switch to Home Mode
Factory Reset the TV
If you don’t see the option to change the mode, or if your TV continues to act like it’s in Store Mode, a factory reset may be needed.
Press the Home button on your remote.
Go to Settings > System > Advanced System Settings > Factory Reset.
Choose Factory reset everything.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
During the initial setup, be sure to choose Home Use (not Store Use) when prompted.
This will erase all your apps, Wi-Fi info, and personal settings, so only do this if necessary.
Signs Your TV Is in Store Mode
TV plays a demo video or banner saying "Best viewed in store lighting"
