Knowing Your Enhanced Remote

Complement your streaming experience with the TCL Roku Enhanced Remote.  This easy-to-use remote enables private listening with its built-in headphone jack, allows voice search for a more convenient way of looking for your favorite movies and TV shows.  Plus, no more missing remotes with the remote finder button on the TV.

Re-pairing the Remote with the TV

The Enhanced Remote Control operates with wireless radio-frequency signals and must be paired with your TV during initial setup.  In case your remote loses its pairing with the TV, refer to the step-by-step instructions below to re-pair them.

  1. Open the battery compartment to locate the pairing button - as shown in above image.
  2. Press and hold the pairing button for three (3) seconds or until the adjacent pairing LED starts flashing.  If the light does not flash, try again.  If the light still does not flash, then you will need to replace your batteries.  After replacing the batteries, repeat step 1.
  3. Turn on the TV using the power button on the TV side or back panel.  
  4. Pairing occurs as the TV starts up.  Wait for 30 seconds while the remote establishes a connection with your TV.
  5. The remote pairing dialog should appear on your TV screen.
  6. Once TV and enhanced remote are successfully paired, the TV will show the battery status of the enhanced remote - as shown below.

  • It can hush your TV.  When you plug headphones into the headphone jack, the TV is automatically muted. Use the Volume UP and DOWN buttons on the side of your remote to control the volume of your headphones to your liking.
  • Using your remote's voice search feature lets you search through the widest selection of channels — by actor, title, or director.
  • Can’t find your remote? Press the left or right navigation button on the back of the TV to bring up the Quick Menu. Highlight the Find Remote option and the missing remote will make a sound so you can find it.
