Finding Your Wireless Network Name & Password

To connect your TV to Wi-Fi, you’ll need two things:

  • Your wireless network name (SSID)

  • Your Wi-Fi password

Below are quick ways to find both.

Your wireless network name (SSID)

If you don’t remember your Wi-Fi name, check another device that’s already connected to your home network (phone, tablet, or computer). The network name it’s connected to is the one your TCL Roku TV should use.

If you don’t have another device to check:

  • Look on the bottom or back of your router for the default SSID (network name).

  • Visit your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or router manufacturer website for help locating the SSID.

Make sure your network appears on the TV

On the Choose your network screen, confirm your network name is listed.

If you don’t see it:

  1. Scroll down and select Scan again.

  2. Check the refreshed list of available networks.

Your Wi-Fi password

Use the same password you enter when connecting your phone, tablet, or computer to your home Wi-Fi network.

If you don’t remember the password:

  • Check the bottom/back of your router (some routers list the default password there).

  • Visit your ISP or router manufacturer website for steps to recover or reset your Wi-Fi password.

Tip: Passwords are case-sensitive

Wi-Fi passwords must be entered exactly as shown.

  • To type capital letters, use the Shift key on the on-screen keyboard.
