If you can’t play videos on your Google TV or have other problems with your Google TV device, this article can help fix the issue.
Step 1: Check your Wi-Fi connection
Check the Wifi settings on your TV
- From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Network & Internet.
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on and that you’re connected to the right network.
- If your router has multiple network bands, check that you’re also connected to the correct band.

Tip: You can only use secure Wi-Fi networks, like WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK. Unsecured networks don't show up on Google TV.
Adjust your router and connection
If Wi-Fi is turned on but you have a slow connection, try to adjust your router. You can try to:
- Reboot your router, or unplug it and plug it back in.
- Move your router closer to your TV.
- Use a cable to connect your router to your TV.
Set up a stronger network
If it’s available with your router, set up a 5 GHz network instead of a 2.4 GHz network. For more detail, check with your router manufacturer.
