If you experience issues with the remote pairing during the setup of your Fire TV, please try the following:
- Ensure you’re using new, working batteries
- Move your remote closer to your device, within 10 ft (3 m).
- Remove the batteries from your remote, press the power button (with the batteries still removed) and wait 30 seconds. Put the batteries back in (ensuring proper orientation) and then press and hold the Home button again.
- Reset your TCL Fire TV remote. (We may need to create a public facing article for this to link to, or link to it if it already exists) then try pairing again, after unplugging the TV for 30 seconds and powering it back on.
- Check the remote for an IR output by using the Power button (if the remote does not have an IR output using the power button, it’s possible the remote is defective, or the batteries are not working)
