The status LED is the small light on the front of your TV that may remain on (or change behavior) when the TV is in standby. If your model supports it, you can turn this light off in the settings menu.
Turn off the status LED
- Press Home on your remote.
- Select Settings (gear icon).
- Select Device Preferences (or System, depending on your TV).
- Select LED indicator / Standby LED / Power LED (name may vary by model).
- Choose Off.
Tips and troubleshooting
-
If you don’t see an LED option:
Not all TCL Android TV models allow the status light to be disabled. If the setting isn’t available, the LED behavior may be fixed by design. -
Restart after changing settings (recommended):
If the LED does not change immediately, restart the TV: -
Settings > Device Preferences > Restart
(or unplug the TV for 30 seconds, then plug it back in) -
Blinking vs. steady light:
A blinking status light can indicate the TV is processing a command, updating, or reporting a condition. If it blinks continuously and the TV isn’t responding normally, restart the TV as noted above.
