A factory reset returns your TCL Roku TV to its original out-of-the-box settings. This can help resolve persistent issues, but it will also erase your saved settings and remove installed apps.
Before you reset (important)
A factory reset will:
- Remove all downloaded apps/channels
- Sign you out of your Roku account
- Erase Wi-Fi network info
- Reset picture, audio, and input settings back to default
Tip: If you’re troubleshooting a problem, try a System restart first:
Settings > System > Power > System restart
Option 1: Factory reset using the TV menu (recommended)
- Press Home on your Roku remote.
- Select Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Advanced system settings.
- Select Factory reset.
- Choose Factory reset everything.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.
Option 2: Factory reset using the physical reset button (if you can’t access the menu)
- If your TV won’t respond or you can’t navigate to Settings, you can reset using the reset button.
- Locate the RESET button on the TV (usually on the back or side; some models have a pinhole reset).
- With the TV powered on, press and hold the reset button for about 10–20 seconds.
- Release the button when the TV restarts or the reset process begins.
- Tip: If your TV has a pinhole reset, use a paperclip to press and hold the button.
After the reset
Once the reset is complete, the TV will restart and show the guided setup screen. You’ll need to:
- Select your language
- Connect to Wi-Fi (or Ethernet, if available)
- Sign in to your Roku account
- Reinstall apps/channels as needed
Troubleshooting tips
- If the TV seems stuck during reset, unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and try again.
- If you see Error Code 011 or “Cannot connect to Roku” during setup, it usually indicates a network or Roku service connection issue—wait a few minutes and try again, then confirm your internet connection.
