Your TCL S Series sound bar and wireless subwoofer are designed to connect wirelessly, giving you deeper bass for movies, music, games, and TV.
In most cases, the subwoofer pairs with the sound bar automatically. If it does not connect, follow the steps below to re-pair it manually.
Note: Pairing steps and indicator-light colors can vary by model. If the controls on your sound bar or subwoofer are different from those described below, refer to your sound bar's User Manual.
Try Automatic Pairing First
Connect the sound bar and subwoofer to power.
- Make sure both devices are securely connected to working power outlets.
- Turn on the sound bar.
Allow the sound bar and subwoofer to connect automatically.
- Do not press the PAIR button on the back of the subwoofer while automatic pairing is taking place.
- When pairing is successful, the indicator on the subwoofer should remain solid. On supported S Series models, this indicator is amber.
If the indicator continues blinking or you do not hear sound from the subwoofer, continue with manual pairing.
Manually Re-Pair the Subwoofer
- Make sure the sound bar and wireless subwoofer are connected to power.
Press the PAIR button on the back of the subwoofer until its indicator begins flashing.
Why this matters: A flashing indicator shows that the subwoofer is searching for the sound bar.
- Press the Right Arrow button on the top panel of the sound bar or on the remote control to power on the sound bar.
- Allow the sound bar and subwoofer to connect.
Check the subwoofer indicator. When pairing is successful, the amber indicator should remain solid.
Why this matters: A solid indicator confirms that the wireless connection between the sound bar and subwoofer has been established.
If the Subwoofer Still Won't Pair
Restart the Sound Bar and Subwoofer
- Turn off the sound bar.
- Unplug both the sound bar and subwoofer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug both devices back in.
- Turn on the sound bar and allow the subwoofer to pair automatically.
Why this matters: Restarting both devices can clear temporary power or wireless communication issues.
Move the Subwoofer Closer
Temporarily place the subwoofer within approximately 10 feet of the sound bar, then try pairing again.
Why this matters: Reducing the distance between the devices can help determine whether distance or an obstruction is interfering with the wireless connection.
Check for Wireless Interference
During pairing, move the sound bar and subwoofer away from Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, microwave ovens, or other wireless equipment when possible.
Why this matters: Nearby wireless devices or physical obstacles may interfere with communication between the sound bar and subwoofer.
Confirm You Are Using the Correct Subwoofer
Use the wireless subwoofer that originally came with your sound bar unless another subwoofer is specifically listed as compatible with your model.
Why this matters: TCL wireless subwoofers are designed to work with specific sound bar systems. A subwoofer from another system may not pair even if it is also a TCL product.
