Temperature fluctuations are normal during the operation of wine chillers, beverage chillers, and combination wine & beverage chillers.

The compressor cycles on and off as needed to maintain the selected temperature. Once the set temperature is reached, the compressor may stop running. During this time, the internal temperature can gradually rise several degrees before the compressor turns back on and cooling resumes.

These products may also periodically enter an automatic defrost cycle. During defrost, the compressor temporarily stops running, which can cause the displayed or measured temperature to increase before returning to the selected range.

Temperature fluctuations can also be affected by:

• Room temperature
• How fully the cabinet is loaded
• How frequently the door is opened
• The selected temperature setting
• The location of the temperature measurement inside the cabinet

A temporary temperature increase of approximately 6 - 8°F, followed by the compressor restarting and the temperature decreasing again, can be part of normal operation and does not necessarily indicate a cooling problem.
